Changing political leaders
A lot of people are saying that the world would do fine if we could get rid of George Bush. Obvioiusly, if we would get rid of him, there would be somebody else to fill the place of the person who everybody thinks to be the root of all evil. But could political leaders be somehow changed to really work for the best of the world? We would get rid of bad people - not exactly by getting rid of those people as a whole, but by getting rid of their bad ideas and actions that are making the world a worse place.
AIESEC is already doing this for young people by helping them become good and responsible leaders while they are still young. Sure it is easiest to affect people's development at young age, but could this kind of leadership development program work also for adults? If they lived in another country for some time, lead a team of volunteer workers, met enough people from different countries and were all the time supported to reflect their own development as a leader, could they start making better decisions?
Junior Chamber International is doing pretty similar thing for people up to 40 years old: personal development through learning new things by doing and trying out. Could a personal development program be sold to terrorists and could it shake their worldviews in a way that they would start seriously thinking about what they want to do with their lives?
This idea was inspired by students of Olari high school.
