About Be a Change
Be a Change is a program that helps people start new social enterprises. It consists of virtual collaboration 26.8.-26.10.2008 here and Be a Change event 30.10.-1.11.2008 at Tikkurilan Silkki, Vantaa, Finland. Program participants generate socially relevant business ideas and develop the best of these ideas into finalized concepts. Participants have also opportunity to participate a business concept competition where 1-3 winners will receive an award that helps them realize their business idea(s) after the event.

In honour of its 60 years of activating youth leadership, AIESEC in Finland has decided to start advancing social entrepreneurship.Social entrepreneurship means tackling societal challenges with the means of business. Examples on existing social enterpreneurship are Grameen Bank, which provides microcredit to the poor, and Finnish second-hand dressmaking workshop Remake EkoDesign.
AIESEC takes part in advancing social entrepreneurship by organizing in cooperation with Feelovation the first Be a Change program. The program consists of virtual collaboration 26.8.-26.10. here and Be a Change event 30.10.-1.11. in Tikkurilan Silkki, Vantaa. Program participants generate at least a hundred socially relevant business ideas and develop the best of these ideas into finalized concepts. In the end, 1-3 social enterprises are started.
70 students and 70 people from working life with different backgrounds are selected to participate the event. Among these participants there are teams and individuals taking part in a competition where 1-3 winners will be awarded. These awards will enable the winner(s) get their social enterprise(s) running right after the event. Awards are given out in AIESEC in Finland 60th anniversary celebration 1.11.
